About the Bridgelink Centre

The Ivybridge Link charity was set up in 2000 to run the Bridgelink Centre at Ivybridge Estate, Summerwood Road, Isleworth. Ivybridge is one of west London’s largest and most deprived social housing estates, in the top 10% of national income deprivation. With 3000 residents living mainly in four tower blocks the centre and its volunteers provide a lifeline to the residents with a wide range of services in a welcoming and informal environment.

In this age of austerity, it is no mean feat to keep a community centre open and working for the benefit of local residents. It is therefore testimony to the hard work and commitment of the staff, partners and volunteers, that not only is the Centre still operating, but it is actively supporting local residents, working closely with families and young people, and offering opportunities for residents to build their skills and confidence and become more involved in their local community.

Our charity is fully reliant on grants, rental income and donations to fund our activities. It is through the skills of the trustees and staff team that we have managed to obtain funding to continue key services, as well as partner with local organizations, for the benefit of local residents.

In 2017 we were absolutely delighted to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for which we were nominated by Mario Pedro, deputy lieutenant for the Borough of Hounslow. This is a very prestigious award, the equivalent of the MBE for organisations, and well deserved.

Ivybridgelink is the registered charity for The BridgeLink Centre.
